Milling ~

Local Wood owns and operates two types of portable sawmills: a Lucas swing-blade mill ideally suited for producing dimensional products, and Logosol mills better suited for cutting slabs and other unique or odd-sized projects. We can bring our mills to you or bring your logs to us, mill them to your specifications, and carefully stack your lumber for proper drying.

Planing and Moulding ~

Local Wood owns a number of wood-processing machines including a PH-260 4-sided planer/moulder. This allows us to produced finish-quality wood products of virtually any size or profile from rough-cut lumber in a single pass. Flooring, crown moulding and siding are but a few examples of what we can produce. Whether we milled the wood for you or not, we can shape rough lumber into whatever sort of product you need, quickly and cost-effectively.

Kiln Drying ~

Local Wood operates a solar-powered kiln of our own design and construction. Whether you need wood dried to a specific moisture content or just sterilized, we can do it for you in the most environmentally responsible way.
